Antonio Conte: It’s incredible that Victor Moses has been underestimated by previous Chelsea manager.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that he is surprised that previous Chelsea managers overlooked the potentials in Victor Moses, after helping bring out the best in the Nigerian international.

Moses was signed by Chelsea for £9 million from Wigan Athletic in 2012 and made 43 appearances inall competitions during his first season at the club under Roberto Di Matteo and interim manager Rafa Benitez.

After Jose Mourinho took over from Rafa Benitex, the Nigerian international did not make a competitive appearance for the blues for the three seasons mourinho was in charge of Chelsea.

Mourinho loaned Moses out to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham United before Conte took over this summer and took a radiancy to the 25-year-old on Chelsea’s pre-season tour to America.

“I could see his potential from the first days of the summer training camp,” said Conte. “Moses has important qualities: technique, physical strength, the ability to cover 70m of the pitch.

“I find it incredible that someone like him has been underestimated.”

Moses has arguably emerged as one of the most important player in Conte’s new winning system.

Since their two defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, the Londoners have won all their league games and are yet to concede a goal while scoring 17 along the way.

Moses is now having a fruithful career so far under new manager Conte as he finally gets his chance at Stamford Bridge.
